As a destination wedding photographer based in Tampa, Florida, I have the privilege of traveling to beautiful locations all over the world to capture couples’ special days. One of my recent trips took me to Los Angeles, California, for Jackson and Attiya’s Indian American fusion wedding and this was Day 1 of their 3 day celebration. Attiya’s intimate henna ceremony was at a private residence in the Hollywood area.
The henna ceremony is a traditional pre-wedding event that takes place a few days before the wedding. It’s a time for the couple to come together with their families and friends to celebrate their love and commitment to each other. The ceremony typically includes the application of henna, a temporary dye made from the leaves of the henna plant, to the hands and feet of the couple. The henna is believed to bring good luck and blessings to the couple.
Attiya’s henna ceremony was beautiful and intimate. The private residence was the perfect setting for the intimate event, with its lush green gardens and stunning views of the surrounding area.
As an artist, it’s always a pleasure to capture the beauty and emotion of everyone’s unique cultures and Desi weddings are some of my favorite. Their love for each other was evident, and it was an honor to be a part of their celebrations.
Jackson and Attiya’s henna ceremony was the first event in a series of celebrations leading up to their big day. I can’t wait to share the rest of their wedding journey and what I documented.
