Photography Lead Times: Why So Long?

February 9, 2017

This is a video of my editing process and why I personally take a few weeks to deliver back a collection

Time and time again we see clients ask for collections ahead of their scheduled delivery date. This does a few things to us photographers. I will be frank. We hate it.

It’s really annoying when someone asks if their photographs are ready 2 weeks after their wedding. This is not possible. We want to give every single one of our wedding clients our undivided attention and deliver back only our best work.

It’s nothing against anyone personally but when people feel rushed, and I am sure you have felt rushed before, they will rush and send off half assed work. I never want to send off something that I am not 100% happy with.

What do you do when you want to get previews of your wedding day? Well typically for me and for a majority of other photographers, we send previews either the night of or following day so that you can show off to your family and friends!

How can I tell if my collection is almost ready without annoying my photographer? This is a good questions! Make sure you are following your photographer on social media. I myself tend to show off what i’m currently working on throughout my week on instagram or snapchat (@StillsByHernan on both platforms). I am usually working on something that it’s going to be delivered within the next few days or so. So keep an eye out!

How can I show appreciation to my photographer? Seriously you do not have to go out and buy us anything, at least speaking for myself, if you write me a letter or email about your feelings towards your collection. That would be enough to bring me to tears and joy haha. There is rarely anything else that would make me happier than to know how happy you guys were with your set.

We heart you, we really do and we want to produce only the best for you. So I promise it’s worth the wait time. 100%
